FRENCH COUNTRY COLLECTIONS 11 FIG PRESERVE RECIPE Ingredients • 1 cup red wine • 1 cup water • 1 tsp cinnamon • 2 x Cinnamon sticks • 1 x Vanilla pod • 2-3 Cardamon pods • A handful of crystallised ginger, diced • ¾ cup sugar Method Place all ingredients in heavy based saucepan, and bring to the boil. Simmer 10 minutes. Add figs, either whole or sliced in half. Simmer for a further 20minutes. Serve. “I love fig season, and this recipe has got to be a family favourite.
